Yakisoba and Titan Alliance in the toughest comeback

Losing to ET with 5.3k points and only 12 hours to go

Yakisoba and TA working hard to close the gap. With 6 more hours to go.
It looks possible, but ET and JQ started to crack our armor and our tension after 6 hours of intense defending.
A glimmer of hope remain.

Shouts of victory and manly tears were shed when we manage to holdout and sustain our dominance.
We passed ET in points at exactly 4:05 AM in the morning.
Our defenders are wearing thin and fatigue plaguing our members.
Luckily we are with Titan Alliance. The NA guild has awaken and started to join in to the fight.
We finally caught a break but are unable to relax, due to the fact that we will lose this tiny lead at any time.

After all the dust has died down, Henge of Denravi has emerged as the winner at the end.
Winning by a 1.3k margin is no small feat especially when you see the points deficit at the start.

I hereby congratulate  all of our members for sticking it in WvW.
Shout out to Zan and his team for the commando move. Bringing down Trebuchets when the time is dire.
Also to our WvW officers Kuch and Cara, where they have push past the fatigue and make sure we held our forts.

Furthermore, i would like to give a shoutout to SYN’s 5 man golem team that took Stonemist by Blitzkrieg.

Lastly to the guilds of Titan Alliance, we have shown the world this is what organized WvW is all about.

Yakisoba’s First! 100% World Completion

I am proud to present Yakisoba’s First world completion member. Voyage Vidimus! Achieving 100% completion on all maps. Congratulation!

Furthermore, he has only played 222 Hours and 34 Minutes on this character!

Expect many more first and world first from Yakisoba, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yakisoba’s Anti-Botting Stance

Yakisoba has a strict anti-botting stance, and it greatly disturbs me that we have a member in the house that has been caught using botting/macroing. Lex was discovered to be AFK-macroing his character by our own members. I am very disappointed in this because Lex was our highest level in Yakisoba. I have kicked Lex from the guild and would also like to take this opportunity to warn all members about our stance on this.

We take great pride in leveling our characters, and using bots or AFK-macroing is a major No in our book. What’s worst is that it doesn’t even make sense to bot in Guild Wars 2. Levels don’t matter here as much as other MMOs. Please do not disgrace the guild with such an issue. Any members caught or reported will be expelled from the guild immediately.

Below are 2 video proof of Lex’s afk-macro in action.

The Final Countdown

Obligatory music from Europe – The Final Countdown.

With 3 hours more to go on for the possible early launch at 12pm, we have now reach frenzied stage. The excitement that is going on in our facebook group is over 9000! Also, we recently had a surge in applications and approval, which we have approved on a case by case basis. For the benefit of the new members, this is my last reminder slash guide for them on the basic requirements for Yakisoba.

1. Read the Pre-Guild Wars 2 preparation post here.

2. The few basic things you need to do to join Yakisoba Guild in Guild Wars 2.

  • Be accepted on the Facebook Group
  • Added your name into the rollcall
  • Downloaded mumble, and get registered by an officer
  • Wait in mumble/facebook for the selected server details
  • Mail 50 bronze to Tsubaki (IGN to be confirmed later)
  • Wait for invite
  • Invitation received, represent guild and voila you are a confirmed Yakisoba member.

3. Try out the Members login on the right side of the blog for any members-only news. Password is on our facebook.

Having said all of this, we will no longer explain this process any further. After a few days, we will begin pruning our member list. Members who fail to meet any of those basic requirements will be removed. Please don’t tell us you don’t know, because if you don’t have the bothered to be updated with what’s going on in Yakisoba, perhaps this is not the guild for you.

Cheers all. Let’s get ready for Guild Wars 2!

[Guide] How to Get to Lion’s Arch

Galmuth, our resident Yakisoba Celebrity Chef has kindly made a simple guide for all new members who want to play with members from a different starting area. Using the portals located in Lion’s Arch, players may go to the 5 different starting races. Enjoy the simple guide she has made below:

Get to Hero’s Panel

Press ‘H’ to get to panel. Click on the PVP tab on the left. Click on top button to go to Heart of the Mists.

Exit PvP Tutorial Area

New players will land in a PVP tutorial area. Run straight ahead and up the stairs, then travel through the gate.

Exit Heart of the Mist

In the new zone, run through the Lion’s Arch gate. It’s flanked with a pair of lions.

Get to the Grand Piazza

Once in Lion’s Arch, head to the middle of the map where the Grand Piazza is. Cross the bridge to the circled area where all the gates are.

Go through the respective gates

Each gate goes to a racial starter city. Members of each race are positioned outside their respective gates, so you can take your cue from there.

Black Citadel – Charr

Divinity’s Reach – Human

The Grove – Sylvari

Hoelbrak – Norn

Rata Sum – Asura

One more Stress Test!

We will be conducting a stress test tomorrow Tuesday, August 21 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.

We will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity problems or discover featu

res that are not working as designed.

Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch.

By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game. Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game!

You know the drill. Probably the last stress test before the launch this Saturday. For us it’s 22nd August, Wednesday at 3 – 7am. Have fun!

Final Race/Class Poll Results

We know that there would be some members who are having second thought on their main classes and we have decided to have another round of class polls. Below are the results!

It is quite interesting to see how the class demographics has shifted from our previous poll. Necromancer sees a surge of players wanting to roll it, while Ranger hit rock bottom. It’s also nice to see that our previously huge demand for Warrior has now dipped down nicely. I daresay our classes are pretty balance now.

In the race department, it seem that a lot more players have decided to go with Human, and Norn now overtakes Charr as the least popular race in the guild. There’s also a big increase for Asura, which we are not surprised after we finally had the opportunity to play them in the last BWE. Asuras have the best animations in GW2 hands down.

Pre-Guild Wars 2 preparation for Yakisoba Members

The big day is finally coming. The years of waiting, is soon to be over. Guild Wars 2 will launch in 5 days time.

And we have a list of things we need our members to prepare and get ready for launch day itself. It is going to be very very hectic and crazy, but if you follow this list- you’ll be fine.

1. Download and get registered on Mumble.

For those who have not done so, it’s high time you got it ready. Recently we increased our security for mumble and will only let non-registered members stay in 2 channels: Recruitment or AFK Room. To register your mumble nickname, come into mumble and post on our facebook to request for any officer to register you. Once registered, you will have full access to the member level rooms. This is going to be troublesome if you only want to do it on launch, so make sure you get registered earlier. For a small guide and FAQ on Mumble, check this page out.

Mumble is an absolute priority for Yakisoba, and we will only add members into the guild once the game start via mumble.

Also, please add your FB name on your comment so we can identify you better. To do this, first right-click on your nickname and select Change Comment. You may notice some members have banners in their nicknames, we are using this nifty signature generator for it.

 2. Wait for Guild to release homeserver information on Facebook/Mumble

We will only be releasing our finalized homeserver information a few days before the launch. We will not announce on our blog. This is at the request of our alliance. All members please take note that choosing your homeserver is a one time affair. Once you selected a homeserver, you cannot switch (even by deleting all your characters) unless you pay using the gemstone. Arenanet has hinted that there might be free server transfers during the first week, but it’s highly important that you do not choose the wrong server.

We suggest that all members to be present at least on Day 1 headstart to choose their server. All you need is to select your server, and you don’t even have to create your character to be part of it.

In the event of a full server issue: We can only hope and pray that Anet will slowly increase the server cap. Keep checking the homeserver lists, and transfer whenever possible. Those who are affected, I’m afraid you’ve lucked out.

3. Collection of funds on live

Once the server go live, we will need to raise 10 silver to create the guild. To help speed up this process, we require all members to send 50 bronze to Tsubaki or Shader at launch. We will announce our ingame nickname on Mumble, and once we receive your mail, we will add you to the guild. This acts as a mini “entry fee”. 50 bronze is fairly easy to grind for, just do one dynamic event and you will have enough money to send us.

All of the excess fund will go into our guild bank, and will be used only for guild related matters. On our stance of Guild bank, please refer to our white paper.

4. Representing the Guild

Once added to Yakisoba. Please remember to represent the guild. Representing the guild allows you to earn Influence points for the guild whenever you login, complete dynamic events, WvW or PvP. Influence points is used to upgrade the guild and we will get plenty of guild benefits for Yakisoba members. When you make a new character, do remember that by default, you will not represent any guild. So do represent your new character as well.

On top of this, always remember you are representing the guild. Be mindful of how you treat others around you. Everybody in our server are our allies. We will be playing and fighting along side with them. Thank god there is no more Ks-ing to worry about in GW2. Respect everyone, and always maintain and uphold the image of Yakisoba. Never engage in any public smack talks, trollings, flamings in game, or on forums. We take this very seriously and will not hesitate to remove any member damaging the reputation of our guild.

5. Form up parties of 5

It will be good to form up parties of 5 among yourselves to do the PVE contents in this game. It’s faster exp to tag monsters (doing 5-10% damage at least) as a group, as opposed to solo killing. This speeds up your level process in dynamic events and renown hearts quests.

We are hoping that we can get as many members to level 20-30 on the 2nd day so we can start organizing our WvW sessions by the 3rd day.

6. Read up on Guild’s WvW Member Handbook

The handbook can be found on our facebook page document here. Kuch and Cara are our current WvW officers and they will be in charge of the planning and execution of WvW. Other officers may also step in to help with the leading of any organized WvW sessions.

When we conduct any organized WvW sessions, we expect participating members to be on the WvW mumble channel, and to maintain voice discipline. Speak only to alert other of ambushes, out-flanked or backstab. Also, you are expected to listen to orders. If given an instruction to attack or retreat, please listen. Do not run off on your own to do your own thing. We are fighting as a cohesive force, usually against larger numbers so we need all members act together. We are not going to be a zergswarm with everyone doing their own things. WvW is serious business, as the officers will be coordinating with the other alliance officers on the battle.

If you want to run around and do your own thing, do not participate in an organized Wvw session.

7. Have fun

Okay, we seem to have laid down some very serious stuff. But, at the end of the day, remember to have fun!

Even though we starting to sound a bit hardcore, we aren’t! We’re just putting a little seriousness in our game so we can all enjoy better. May Guild Wars 2 be the game that we will reside in for a long time!

Tightening Up Mumble

Mumble

We have recently increase our mumble security, this is to set up a barrier between member and public. The changes are listed below.
