The RIFT Head Start is just around the corner and the forces of the planes are gathering. Head Start is scheduled to run from Feb 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM PST through launch (North America – March 1, 2011 at 10 AM PST / Europe – March 4, 2011 at 4 PM GMT). Here’s what to do to make sure you’re ready to join the fight on February 24th.

1. If you have installed the RIFT beta client, be sure to uninstall it before installing RIFT
2. Download RIFT – You can also download RIFT from your Trion Worlds Account
3. Install RIFT and then patch until you’re ready to play!

Steam™ & Amazon™ download customers – If you’ve already downloaded the client from Steam or Amazon, there’s no need to download it again. Just make sure your game is patched!

Well hello people! Time for a major major update. It’s been a while since we carried the Yakisoba banner. After we quit Aion some of us went to play WoW, but instead we joined another guild.

But right now we have a new home to move into, and this time it is RIFT. It’s a crossbred between WOW and WAR, and thrown in rifts as an interesting dynamic gameplay. There’s also a very interesting soul system which you can mix up to 3 of 8 souls for your respective classes to form different builds. This game probably breaks the usual typeset: rouges have tanking souls, mages have healings souls, clerics have melee and range dps souls, etc etc. And they do their jobs pretty effectively.

Former Yakisoba members, if you are looking for a new game to play, you can join us in this. The core team will be playing (myself, testarossa, kongbakpao and niyol) and we hope to form a casual yet active afterwork guild that does PVP and Rift Raidings.

So do you homework, and quickly preorder now. The game starts 1st March, but headstart for preorders will start this Friday, 2am GMT +8 (SG/MY)

Today we had one of our longest and largest raid in the abyss. A 24-men (and not forgetting our girls!) alliance that fought against the Elyos zerg near the Siel Western Fortress. We pushed them back all the way till their tower on the other island (Twilight Battlefield), and this went on back and forth.

Even though we were heavily outnumbered, we outmaneuver the enemy a few times and broke thru their ranks with very well coordinated attacks. To be honest, for such a big group we were very efficient, attacking as one and we held our ground well.

Our templars kept the heat on by pulling critical players on the other side to their death before our DPSers. Targets that were marked were quickly killed. Members that went down were quickly brought back into the fray.

After more than 2 hours of fighting, everyone got tired and it gradually died off. We then went on to control 3 artifacts before ending off with a group photo-

And these are the Yakisoba members that participated in today’s raid. We scored at least 400 kills today in just this raid. This also pushed our total AP and allowed us to return back to 5th place in the server.

Wished I have more time to report all the little events that our guild organizes… but grinding takes precendence!

Yakisoba is now a level 3 legion! We can now apply our guild emblem, as well as recruit more members.

I haven been updating the guild blog, obviously because the game has started and everyone has begun the race to the top. Currently Yakisoba is ranked 5th in the server, and we will continue to press on to maintain our standing! Not bad for a guild that originally planned to be semi-hardcore only. Hahah. Guess we couldn’t resist the competition.

We will be opening up our recruitment to take more like minded players. Requirements are simple:

– Level 20 at least
– From Singapore/Malaysia/Australia
– Active, Fun, Mature
– Willing to contribute to the guild and our dedicated crafters
– Must use Ventrilo

With less than 16 hours to go, our long wait for Aion’s Launch has finally reached our doorsteps. I’m pretty sure a lot of us here will be rushing for the 3am launch, so don’t be suprised if you can’t complete your newbie quest because everyone is raping the quest monsters/items!

Shader and I have worked out a little something and we now have our very own 40 slot Ventrilo Server! The vent server is being hosted by Hypernia.com. Right now I’ll be footing the bill, but if you wish to help chip in a couple of bucks, do let me know. We will scale the number of slots based on the usage, so please make use of it!
