Greetings to all new Yakisoba members,

First and foremost, welcome to Yakisoba. I am Tsubaki, leader of Yakisoba and I am glad you have chosen to bear the Yakisoba name. While it is simply exciting to be part of a guild and to play Aion together with a group of like-minded people, I would like to take this time to explain a little about our culture here and what it means to be a Yakisoba member.

It will be a long read, and if it’s too long for your attention span, then I’ll have to say that you’re definitely not the member for us.

Yakisoba was founded in 2003 by a group of online friends (myself, Crimz and Keitaro are the remaining few from that era) who started out playing Ragnarok Online. Slowly we moved from game to game (mostly f2p games) until we settled on Granado Espada in 2007, where we became the most powerful guild in Cervantes (You can read more about our escapades on our guild blog). We dominated the entire economy, bosses and even town colonies (our guild single-handedly controlled 18/22 colonies once) without maxing the total number of players.

We believe in quality over quantity, grinding our characters without cheats and yet, not entirely neglecting our social lives completely. The core members of Yakisoba have gathered on various occasions like BBQs or dinners and we know each other to the point where we have all become very good real-life friends.

Basically we are quite hardcore, but we have a few principal we stick to, and have never change in all of the MMOs we have played.

1. Never bot, never cheat
2. Absolute loyalty to the guild
3. Deep trust and respect for each member
4. Fun and lots of bullshit on guildchat

Right now, we don’t know how will the new Yakisoba in Aion will turn out. Our hardcore members (even myself) can no longer claim to be hardcore anymore, due to our commitment outside.

But I am certain, together with the rest of original Yakisoba members, that we will want this guild to be a home to all online. Our online refuge. And I will take whatever means necessary to build up this home for us, together with your help of course.

I am in the works of procuring a ventrilo server (it should be up by tomorrow) for the guild and we deeply encourage everyone who is online to be on it and be active. The more you talk, the more we will get to know you better.

Guild registration will be closed soon, and we will soon be vetting our new members. So count yourself lucky to be here. Do stay active on the forums even if you cannot commit much to the game.

Also, we hope you will live by our values, and to help us continue this culture we carry. With that, I will open the door now:

The poll has spoken. Yakisoba has unanimously decided that we will be moving to Nezekan server together with the oceanic community when it goes live.

So for those who still have yet to decide on a server, come roll Nezekan with us! As Asmo of course, Blood for Blood!

All member please take note of this poll on our forum. The oceanic community has announced that they will be moving to Nezekan, making it their unofficial server. Since we are starting to have doubts about staying with Siel, I’d like all member to take stance on this.

Aion OBT will be up in just 1 day and 5 more hours time and here’s some detail for all Yakisoba members:

We will be rolling in Siel again as Asmodians. During this time, please take note of the latecy of the game and post feedbacks on our forums. We will be deciding whether to still stay in Siel or move to Israphel for the Live launch.

The ventrilo server is up and running so do make full use of it. Props to shade for lending us his server. Ventrilo IP – 203.14.173.58 Port – 6414. There’s also a YakiRadio that we have thrown in, it will play various playlist from japanese to korean to electronic.

I wouldn’t be playing much for live, but I will be on the first day to create our legion. Once our legion is up, I will make a post on our forum and you can check out the necessary names to communicate to to be added into the legion. Also for easier communication you might want to post your MSN email here, so everyone can add each other up.

We are currently using a temporary 15 slot ventrilo server (belongs to Shader, big thanks to him!) for OBT. All members, do join us on the ventrilo server! If you haven’t gotten yourself a mic, now’s the best time to get it.

Greetings, we are a closely-knitted Singapore based legion with members from SG/MY/AUS and we opening up for recruitment. We have years of MMO experiences and our members have moved from game to game together. We have played Granado Esapda (SEA), Cabal Online (SEA), Atlantica Online (Global), Dragonica (SEA) and Team Fortress 2. Some of our newly recruited members have years of experiencing playing World of Warcraft as well.

We plan to make Aion our next home and we have decided to go Asmodian but have yet to decide on a server for live. Yakisoba is a semi-hardcore guild for mature players with jobs. We used to be really hardcore in Granado Espada, but that’s the past, most of us are working/serving army now. But still, we love endgame pvp and raids so we’ll definitely get there, abeit slower than your usual hardcore legion.

Our current strength for Aion stands at 24 players and we’re looking to get a couple more players who are planning to roll:
– Templars
– Chanters
– Spiritmasters

For the upcoming OBT, we will be playing on Siel server.

For those who have yet to visit the Abyss and want to get a feel of how it looks like, check out the video posted. It has got to be one of the best video of the Abyss and the production value for it is superb. The quality is fantastic, remember to watch it in HD because it really makes you want to dive right in.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you:

Players are now one step closer to the release of the year’s biggest massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, Aion.

Within the next four weeks, NCsoft will treat North American and European gamers to two opportunities to jump into the world of Aion and explore Atreia as Asmodian or Elyos characters ahead of its release in North America on September 22 and Europe September 25. Aion’s Open Beta Test featuring version 1.5 will take place September 6 – 13 and will include numerous Western enhancements, including improvements to Aion’s innovative character customization with a host of Western styles, as well as new zones, instances, skills, quests and continued game balancing and improvements. Open Beta will retain a level cap for both Elyos and Asmodians characters at 30 allowing players to focus on getting to the same level so they can explore the lands of Atreia together, as well as the Abyss.

Players who have preordered Aion will be treated to a Pre-Select and a two-day Headstart period giving them the opportunity to explore, organize and progress through the game prior to the official launch. Pre-Select will take place on September 18, while Aion’s Headstart will begin September 20. Players can still participate in the Aion’s Pre-Select and Headstart programs by preordering the game through several participating online and brick-and-mortar retailers, including Aiononline.com, Amazon, Best Buy, EB Games Canada, Fry’s Electronics, GameStop, Steam and Target.

Unlike any MMO before it, Aion is a uniquely crafted online experience where flight offers much more than just a way to explore the landscape – it is a strategic and integral part of combat, quests, and exploration. Players will dive into battle and plunge through thousands of unique, story-driven quests, all while trying to save a world literally shattered in half from centuries of brutal conflict. Using one of the most flexible and in-depth character customization systems ever featured in an MMO, players will be able to create genuinely distinct characters and explore a visually stunning world of ethereal beauty brimming with otherworldly inhabitants, mysterious enemies, and ancient secrets.

To translate them into our GMT+8 dates:

OBT: 7-14th Sept
Pre-selection: 19th Sept
Headstart: 21st Sept
Live: 23nd Sept

For those have yet to make their characters, if they have not wiped out CBT accounts, we will still continue to play in Siel as Asmodians since our Legion is already founded there.

I am looking forward to pre-selection where I can spend all the time I want to create the perfect face for my character. Woot!

Alright, just some general updates for all yakisoba members.

Our Aion division is growing nicely now, our number stands at 22. We have a good mix of hardcore and average gamers so this should provide enough parties to go around when we hit the grindy part of the game.

I’m also in discussion with a few upcoming SG/MY/AUS legions who are also planning to roll Asmo and we’ll probably be building up a strong alliance with them- this will help us when we start going on pvp ganktrips.

I’ll post more when we have finalize more details.

I’m also looking into which server we should roll on live. At the moment the oceanic community is hoping to find a West coast server (since the difference between East and West is actually a 100 ping difference), and NCsoft has been rather secretive about their server locations. But if nothing’s going to be finalized, then I think we should just roll in Siel. But don’t count on that yet.

Also I would like to remind all members who are playing Aion to kindly introduce themselves to the legion here, existing members, do re-introduce yourself as well. And please use this thread to let us know which character would be your main.

We’ve got sufficient dpsers already, so we’re gonna need a couple more Templars, Chanters and Spiritmasters to back us up. I know how most people feel about SMs, but in v1.5 they get a pretty niffy skill- increase drop rate of mobs.

Openbeta really needs to start soon. SRSLY!

Let’s face it. Not everyone is loaded. It’s either you have a lot of free time and no money, or earning money and not a lot of free time. Aion, as we all know by now, is a must buy game where you would probably sell your left testicle for it. But fret not, there are a few ways to shave of a few savings.

Brick & Mortar:

As of now, digital CE is worth getting because of the extra in-game items. Black Cloud Wings (Lvl 30) which gives you +40 flight time, Black Cloud Earring, +hp/mp stats, and an exclusive title with stats. Also thrown in are 2 emotes (1, 2) and dye.

The boxset CE, is far costlier and has an ugly figurine + OST cd (worth torrenting, lulz). If you don’t feel the need to collect more dust in your room, then go digital. Plus you will never have to worry about not getting the game on time because of delivery delays unlike the retail boxsets.

However, if you already bought the SE boxset and suddenly have a deep craving for the CE items, NCsoft has released a special upgrade feature- Upgrade your SE account to CE for only USD$10. A few of us here have done it already, and it’s much cheaper than getting the CE boxset with the useless figurine and all.
