GW2 White Paper
Yakisoba Guild Wars 2 White Paper
Revised: 16 Nov 2012
Yakisoba Guild Expectations
We are not a super military organized guild. We are not a super hardcore guild.
We are a collective of seasoned gamers who have played together for many years. We have a pretty relaxed environment and the culture here is pretty flat. No “play rank” kind of bullshit. Leaders and Officers are mainly to help maintain some organization to the guild, but nothing too serious or extreme.
We encourage members to share and help one another. If you have items to spare, offer it around. If you really must sell, give a good discount. Level often with guild members, get to know each other better and build a good relationship. Be active in mumble. Often members who communicate a lot in mumble tend to build better relationship with others.
If there are disputes, always bring it up to the leaders. We are all grown ups, we should solve problems like one. Petty and poisonous backstabbing is only harmful to the overall guild spirit. We will not hesitate to remove members who exhibit such behaviors.
WvW is our bread and butter, and it is only in this area where we have expectations for members to listen and follow instructions. We want to be a force to be reckoned with, and a guild name that strikes fear in our enemies.
Every member is important, and you shape and mould the kind of community we have in the guild. Remember you represent the guild, don’t bring down its name and always have pride to be a Yakisoba member.
Guild Hierarchy
Guild Leader: Tsubaki
Administration of guild blog, day-to-day guild operations, brokering alliances with various guilds, organizing large-scale pve events, leading WvW
2nd in Command: Shader
In charge of running day-to-day guild operations, taking charge when Guild Leader is not around, maintaining mumble server
WvW Officers: Shader
Expectations: Organize guild-level WvW on schedule timings, developing tactics and strategy, taking charge and lead all battles and operations when Guild Leader is not available. Help to lead a regroup should the main force be split into two (due to respawn).
PvP Officers: Luci
Expectations: Organize PvP training sessions, developing tactics and variable class builds/combinations, leading PvP team in Tournaments.
Welfare Officers: Enzer
Expectations: Welfare of members, managing PR relations and HR matters. Enzer will also step up to take up WvW officership from time to time.
Core Members
Members who have shown commitment to the guild will be promoted to Core Members. Also for members who have chosen to stay with Yakisoba as their main guild.
Members
Majority of our members will hold this rank.
Initiate
All new members will start as Initiate, for a duration of one week.
Multi-Guild stance
With the addition of Multi-guild option for GW2, we do not force our members to join a single guild. Members are allowed to join various side-guilds. But we expect members to represent us most of the time, to earn influence for the guild. Please do not join us if you have only intention to join Yakisoba as a side-guild. Additionally, the position of Core member will only be conferred to members who have chosen to keep Yakisoba as their main guild. Naturally, priorities will also be given to Core members.
When you represent a guild (selected in the guild option), you will earn Influence for the represented guild.
Influence is what members will earn for the guild while leveling and doing WvW, and we can use these points to level up the guild to allow various upgrades and booster effects for members.
Remember our multiguilding rule.
You must rep yakisoba at all time in WvW. You must attend all-calls. You must be in the same server as yakisoba as anytime. Not repping + other server = instant removal.
We can also remove any multiguilders at any time to make room for future members, if such needs arises.
Guild Bank
Guild Treasury: Every member will be expected to contribute a certain fixed amount into the treasury. This is compulsory, and deadline will be set for all. We need money to upgrade the guild slots (1 silver to make guild, and a 11 silver to level it up to 200 member slot) and buy wvw commander scroll (100g in BWE3). In early beginning this of the game it is probably more crucial. It could be like 50 bronze for the start of the game and we can progress to 1 silver per member.
For now, we when the game goes live, each member is required to contribute 50 bronze to the guild by mailing either Tsubaki or Shader when we call for it. You may contribute more if you are generous, and we will mention you as a big contributor to the guild as well. As members get higher in level, we will increase the tax to a comfortable level for everyone, but at the same time enough for the guild to function. We also strongly encourage our members to make money from the Trading Post and contribute to the guild. We will not be using the guild fund to speculate the market.
We will be transparent about our guild fund and also what has been used, and this will be listed on a document on our Facebook group. Later on in the game when we unlock the guild bank you will be able to directly store gold into the bank and there is a log option as well, and we can stop using the primitive method of mailing and logging it on a document.
Guild Crafting
We have decided that we will not have dedicated guild crafters, simply because we encourage everyone to do crafting as it is a great source of leveling. ArenaNet has designed crafting in a manner that allows you to level 1-80 from crafting if you level all 8 crafting professions.
But if you are not interested to do crafting and need a crafter, feel free to ask around to help if you have the mats. Eventually there will be some members who will be higher than the rest and they naturally will become “unofficial” crafters.
Player vs Environment
As it stands now, we do not know what kind of large scale PVE content will be available that would allow us to all attend as a guild, but we are certain about a few things:
Dungeons: Feel free to form dungeon teams among members, share strategy and your pains. The dungeons are made to be brutal and will be quite a challenge for those who have the intention to farm them for cosmetic gears.
Events: Do it with more people, it’s fun! Leveling alone is boring.
Player vs Player
We will have a PvP team, lead by PvP Officer Hype. Members are strongly welcome to join this team if they have the love for competitive PVP as this team will represent the guild in PVP tournaments.
Trainings will be conducted regularly and members will be selected to join the lineup for any tournament games. Most official matchups are 5v5 but we are hoping for Anet to introduce larger 8v8 or 10v10 formats, similar to GW1’s GvG.
World vs World
We are primarily a WvW-centric guild, and our guild is a force to be reckon with when we play together. Yakisoba has built a good reputation in WvW and our presence is often felt in the Borderland maps. Our Organized sessions are held on certain timeslots for all members to come and play together. WvW organized sessions are not compulsory, but we strongly encourage members to join. There will also be days when we may issue an ALL CALL, this means all members are expected to report and queue for WvW. We only do this is we think it’s very crucial and necessary to help the server in WvW. The ALL CALL is not something that we will loosely use.
Yakisoba WvW Playtimes
Weekdays: 8pm to 12am (GMT +8)
Weekends: 3pm to late (GMT +8)
Guild Organized sessions will be lead by Shader. We will be looking to promote a few members to take on this position as a WvW Officer.
WvW requirements from all members
All members are expected to be on mumble and join the WvW channel during organized WvW sessions. This is highly important as we need to move, attack and defend as a coordinated team.
You are expected to listen and follow the commanding officer’s instruction. Please refrain from running off to do your own thing.
All members are expected to buy/bring siege weapons. On hand it is good to have at least 2-3 Battering Rams and a mixture of Ballistas/Arrow Carts/Catapults.
Pricer weapons like Trebuchets or even Golems will be taken from the guild fund when needed. Members are encouraged to do JP during off-sessions to get siege equipment from chests.
Guild Policy on Organized Sessions
When we are conducting organized WvW sessions, we expect all members to listen and act as a cohesive fighting force. The reason why Yakisoba excels in WvW is because we are focused and we have a high level of organized play. Members are not allowed to run around and do their own thing without instructions. During Organized sessions if you want to solo roam around and kill people/do jumping puzzle, do not join the WvW map we are on. We have no place for you if you don’t wish to fight as a team. Members caught doing their own thing will be warned first. Multiple warnings will lead to removal from the guild.
However on non-organized sessions, you are free to run around WvW and do your own thing. Go ahead and form small squads or join other commanders from other guilds.
