Atlantica Online CB3 patch details

Atlantica Online CB3 starts today, and here are the new patch details. Things are looking better.

1. Free Leagues
* Players’ previous Free Leagues information has been wiped.This is an opportunity for players to start anew in the Free Leagues.
* There will be 8 Free Leagues per day, one occurring every 3 hours (all times are Pacific Daylight Saving Time):
* 7-Character Leagues (4 times per day): 12 a.m., 6 a.m., 12 p.m., 6 p.m.
* 9-Character Leagues (4 times per day): 3 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 9 p.m.
* In Free League competition, players’ attributes like physical strength and magic powers will be enhanced even if they are at a lower level, as compared to fighting monsters.

* There are no capacity limits.
* The minimum level to participate in the Free Leagues has been changed to Level 20.
* Players cannot exchange mercenaries in the 7-Character league.
* The method in determining a player’s ranking in the Free Leagues has changed. It is now based on the following, in descending order of importance: Division, League points, win/loss percentage, total number of matches fought, Level, and Experience points. Example: If two players are in the same division and have the same number of League points, the player with the better win/loss percentage is ranked higher.
* If a player doesn’t participate in the Free Leagues for more than 3 days, he/she will fall back to the next lower division.
* The method in determining the initial division a player is placed in when he/she first starts in the Free Leagues has been adjusted. See the table below:

* Division 18 – Level 20 and above;
* Division 17 – Level 35 and above;
* Division 16 – Level 50 and above;
* Division 15 – Level 65 and above;
* Division 14 – Level 80 and above.

* Instead of declining at 7 minutes after a battle starts, player’s physical strength will start to decline after the 15th turn.
* The division of a player will be displayed next to the player’s character name.
* The effect of enchanted equipment will be less in Free League competition.

* Stamina points will not be deducted when players are in a tutorial region.
* A player can still obtain items and Experience points in battle even if his/her Stamina score is 0.
* When fighting in a party, all party members’ Stamina points will reduce.
* If fighting in a party of 2, each player will recover 1 Stamina point after every 2 battles. If fighting in a party of 3, each player will recover 2 Stamina points after every 3 battles. (This only applies to party members actually engaged in the battle.)
* If battling with a party, a player with no Stamina points can still obtain Experience points and loot.

Granado Espada v3.0

Well, not that it’s something that will make us excited, but Crimz thought he should let everyone know anyone. Nothing exactly new except the usual feeble stuff. Boring if you ask me.

Team Fortress 2 Heavy updates

Valve brings about their latest update for Team Fortress 2, introducing new maps, a new play mode, achievements and weapons for Heavy. Testa will most probably be launching his server again for all to farm their achievements, so fret not. It’s only a matter of time before we unlock all 3 weapons.

Check the link out and be glad at such a timely launch. We can now play TF2 while waiting for Atlantica Online CB3. Hur hur hur.

Yakisoba forms new Nation

We have started our own nation: KuroNoKishidan, otherwise known as the Order of the Black Knights, inspired by same name from Code Geass. This makes us the 2nd guild to start a Nation, meaning we will be up against Saints’s United nation.

We’re open to any guilds interested to join our nation. At the moment Ronin has signed up. We’re hoping that more guilds will join us, to fight oppression! =D

GM’s stance on Stamina and Scrolls

Dear Atlantica Players:

We have heard your comments and feedback on the Stamina system, with many of you expressing the question: why was Stamina introduced into Atlantica? Please allow us this opportunity to explain our motivation behind adding this feature into the game.

Why we incorporated Stamina was a desire to emphasize the multiplayer qualities of Atlantica. We truly appreciate the fact that many of you enjoy going into battles using turn-based combat system, which is one of the features developed to help the game stand out among all the other MMORPGs out there. But with some players’ zeal to just hunt monsters and complete quests to level up, the community side of Atlantica ? interacting with other players for guilds or even player-versus-player combat ? was being overlooked. And we believe that this will hurt the long-term relationship we hope to have with all of you. By incorporating new features like Stamina, it will open up more opportunities for you to get involved in the world of Atlantica, especially when you start reaching the upper levels of 90 and above.

It would have been easier for us just to adapt the Korean version for you and players in North and South America and Europe, but we wanted to take what we learned from our past experiences and put more work into the game, making it better. The direction we want to go is to include features that we believe will make the game better over the long haul.

Stamina, we believe, is one of these features. The Stamina points you are given each day provides some amount of play time for you to fight player-versus-enemy battles. And you can recharge Stamina points by participating in various community activities, so you can still go back to PvE combat and further your quest for Atlantis. Plus, we are developing new ways for players to regenerate Stamina points in the future as well.

The addition of Stamina, we believe, will benefit the Atlantica experience in these three ways:

1) Strengthening the Atlantica community by encouraging players to interact with each other more.

2) Allowing players to discover the excitement of player-versus-player combat in Atlantica. In some instances, we have heard people’s attitude go from “I hate PvP” to “PvP is actually fun.”

3) With the benefits of (1) and (2), there will be a better balance between the systems and contents within the game and they will help each other so in the long-term, we can create a better gaming experience for players. We’ve already seen it in this second round of the closed beta, as more players hit higher records than the first round. Plus, you and other players are taking part in the community aspects of the game more.

And we would also like to stress that the Stamina Pill many of you are curious about will not be sold as a cash item for you to buy. We do not intend to sell this or any other items that will recharge Stamina. The reason why we introduced Stamina is not a quick-and-easy way for us to make money. It truly is to make this game better for all of you over the long term.

This long-term approach also applies to the Scroll used in PvP. The Scrolls we are developing will not be a cash item as well. We like adding an element of chance, which should enhance the game’s variety and excitement. In the near future, Scrolls for PvP can be easily crafted by you or you can purchase them in low price in markets within the game. And since the Scrolls will be equally available to all players, we hope that players will be able to explore using Scrolls in PvP as a valid and fair strategy.

We understand that this game cannot exist without your support. We hope to continue on this journey to make Atlantica better, and we want you along with us on this trek for a long time. Our goal is to make Atlantica one of the best MMORPGs. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
ATLANTICA TEAM

Yakisoba’s guild town

Congrats to all Yakisoba members! We finally own a town, and it’s none other than Mumbai, the town sitting beside the Moehenjodaro Graveyard. Let’s keep it up by grinding more Town Quests so that we can increase the satisfaction rate of the town.

Also, start persuading more NPCs to join our town. That will cost you nothing but 100 Will. Also, congrats to everyone who participated in our little guild event. We are now ranked top in the Training Center!

Atlantica Online GM’s response to Stamina System

Greetings Atlantica Players,

Discussion of the Stamina System has gotten out of hand. There are enough threads presenting the full gamut of opinions on this manner, so please refrain from making new threads. We value your opinions, but breaking the rules does not mean we hear you more. One statement each from many people means a great deal more than many posts from one person, so try to avoid spamming please.

For the time being, we are committed to testing this system in Closed Beta 2. We’ve always held that we will listen to the community, and what we want to hear is your honest opinions after you’ve given the system a try. We’re always trying to improve the game, and in order to do that we need feedback based on the game itself.

Thank you for your input. As we’ve said in the past, we do value the community, and your voices are being heard.

The number of outcry threads regarding the Stamina System also forced the GMs to turn on a 5 minute flood control on the boards. Fantastic, I thought communist China was in the East and not the West.

For now we’ll test the game. At least until our Stamina runs out. Then we can tell them to get rid of it, or get rid of us, the players.
